"Let's start at the very beginning/A very good place to start..."
I find blogging to be really attractive, and as much as I would definitely like to blog more, I find that the weight of my words being public, and the extent to which I censor myself as a result, both conspire to make it a less than ideal experience for me. In any case, most of what I am trying to do when I want to write in this format is share my ideas with the people I care about.
Enter Vox. Vox is essentially half blogging and half MySpace/Facebook. What it allows me to do is write a blog but make it visible to only those people that I want to be able to view it. I can even be selective, so I can write a post and include photos, but only have the photos viewable by my close friends/family. Right now Vox is pretty early and I haven't used it much because I first need the people I would want to have access to what I write to be in the system and maybe even writing themselves! (or at least commenting on my posts...) The bottom line is that I can be myself. I can write about things and not have to worry it will get back to my boss or whomever. I can say whatever it is I want to say and not have it come back to bite me in the ass later on. I see it as an opportunity for us to have a private, friends dialog about stuff and I find that notion pretty electric.
Which is to say that if you are coming here as a stranger, there will not be much that will be made accessible to you in the future...
